"Här kan det vara en inspirerande quote från någon Vivi gillar" - Namn Namnsson

Previously professor in Earth Sciences at the Department of Geology, Lund University, Sweden. My research is funded by The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. After earning my Doctoral degree in Paleontology in 1998 at Lund University, I did post-doctoral studies at the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences, Lower Hutt, New Zealand. My main research interest concerns high-resolution biostratigraphical analysis of sediments, and a broad spectrum of geochemical procedures to resolve the timing, rates, and causes of Life’s most profound catastrophes, e.g. the Cretaceous-Paleogene (KT) mass-extinction event. I am presently the chair for the International Geoscience Program IGCP, one of Unescos five science programs – funded by UNESCO and IUGS I am presently the chair of the Geological Society of Sweden I am an elected member of the Swedish National Committee for Geological Sciences.
